Make the most of every opportunity
It’s hard to believe that we’re already in March, and that Easter is just about six weeks away! In Colossians 4:2-6, Paul encourages us to make the most of every opportunity we have to share the love of Christ with others. While every day is a good day to invite someone to church, Easter is one of the best opportunities we have to reach out to our friends, family, and co-workers to come and experience the love of Christ through the Gospel message.
Why is it such a good opportunity? Because people are already thinking about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Is there someone that God has placed on your heart that you can invite to church that Sunday? Let’s start praying for them now. If you’d like, you can send me their name and I will pray for them too — that God would give you the right opportunity to reach out to them, that they would be receptive to the invitation, and that God would move in their heart to help them grow in their faith.
Inviting people to church can feel intimidating, but there’s some research out there that should give you some hope: About 80% of people will say “yes” to a personal invitation to church if it comes from a friend or family member. So, who has God placed on your heart, and how can you reach out to them?
Blessings,
