Ladies Sip and Savor Event
Ladies, save the date for our next event! Our Sip and Savor event will be held on Saturday, May 17th. It will be a fun event built around coffee, getting to know one another, fancy finger foods and more. Look for the 13 ladies wearing pins (I believe they are in the shape of a coffee mug) and ask more about the event.
VBS Summerama
Summerama is a great way to Kick Off the Summer of 2025!
This year, we’re taking the spirit of camp – the camaraderie, the daily activities, the immersive nature – and applying it to our theme. Live It Out VBS combines the fun and adventure of camp life with meaningful Bible stories, fun worship songs, and engaging small group activities that teach kids how to love like Jesus.

Men's Conference
Men and teens, come join your brothers in Christ for a fun and challenging weekend. Last year we had a ballpark-themed lunch, caught part of the Husker game, served our community, played some group games, and heard some great lessons from Curt Sparks. What’s in store for this year? Stay tuned!

Trunk or Treat
Invite your friends to our family-friendly Trunk or Treat! From 6-8 PM, families can roam our parking lot and visit several folks that have decorated their trunks. Play games, have some hot cocoa, and grab some candy and good fellowship!
Mother's Day
We are so grateful that God put mothers and grandmothers in our lives. Let’s pray for our mothers and mother figures in our lives and tell them “Thank you” today!
Senior Sunday
This is the day we celebrate our graduating seniors. Their families will decorate a table that highlights their student. Feel free to bring a card and give a hug to these young people on their special day!
Leadership Training for Christ (LTC)
LTC EXISTS TO INSPIRE AND EQUIP GENERATIONS OF YOUTH IN CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP IN THE HEART OF AMERICA TO LEAD THEIR CHURCH, COMMUNITY, AND WORKPLACE THROUGH THE 21ST CENTURY. OUR KIDS WILL TRAIN IN VARIOUS AREAS OF CHURCH SERVICE (SONG LEADING, PUPPETS, DRAMA, ETC) AND MAKE THEIR PRESENTATIONS IN KANSAS CITY ON THIS WEEKEND.
THIS EVENT IS DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES TO ATTEND AND CHEER ON EVERY SOUTHWEST STUDENT.

Bryan Fojtasek will be facilitating this group which will meet in a designated section of the auditorium. Each week we will be reading one main passage together and then discussing what we learn about God, what we learn about people, and how God is calling us to live out our faith in a practical way.
We will also spend time praying for one another and for those in our community who are in need physically, spiritually, and emotionally. This group is for people of all ages and backgrounds, and it’s designed specifically so that everyone from new Bible-readers to lifelong Christians will get something out of it.

The Equip conference is a two-day series of events designed to empower Christians to grow and strengthen their local congregations. Equip will feature church leaders from seven states, including some great ones from Southwest!

Southwest teens meet in the youth room every Wednesday for “The Gathering.”
Come join us from 6:30 - 8:00 PM as we gather with each other and grow in our walk with God!
Chili Cook-Off
A great way to warm up during winter is the warmth that comes from eating chili together! This annual event has become a favorite time of fellowship. Plan to attend and enter your best chili recipe. Last year we had around 20 offerings, and the panel of judges gave the award to James Trively. James and his family moved away so the prestigious Winner’s Award is open for the taking!.

Have your chili at the gym by 5:45 for judging. Everyone can begin eating at 6:00 pm..
Drinks, cornbread and cinnamon rolls will be provided! If you are not planning to bring chili, but would like to contribute, you are welcome to bring a dessert.

Southwest is looking for a group of women that would like to form a committee to oversee this ministry. If you think you might be interested, or have ideas that you would like to see for the Women’s Ministry, please plan to attend this planning session after morning worship on February 16th.
