Southwest Men’s Ministry invites men of all ages to a time of study and accountability. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
We will meet every two weeks during the summer months. Saturday mornings at 7:00 AM, so that we don’t take away too much time from our families.
We are starting off by studying the book “The Titus Ten” by J. Josh Smith.
Each week will contain a time of study and a challenge as we strive to live for Jesus and be examples to our families. Come and join us!

Welcoming Church Seminar w/ Jon Reed
Please block off January 11, 2026 on your calendars now to be a part of the Welcoming Church Seminar with Jon Reed! As a church, we will learn crucial skills such as Putting on Guest “Glasses”, How to Attract Guests, and How to Follow-Up With Guests. Southwest wants to be a church that creates disciples of Jesus, so we look forward to Jon’s coaching on reaching out to guests!

Jon Reed Bio
The joy and pride of Jon’s life and greatest blessing has been being married to his wife Rebecca for 36 years and raising two amazing children, son Zackery and daughter Jessica. Jon has been the full time minister at the Hilltop Church of Christ in El Segundo, California for the past 27 years. He has had the privilege of training and coaching dozens of churches across the nation on how to be welcoming to guests. Hospitality and guest relations has been a passion of Jon’s for many years as his church has lived out the mission of “accepting people where they are while helping each other accept where God wants us to be”. God has grown the Hilltop Church of Christ from 30 to 300 based on one word, “Welcome”.
As well as completing all the courses for a Doctor of Ministry at Harding Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. Jon is a certified speaker, coach, and leadership trainer with the John Maxwell Team. He has been a presenter at the Pepperdine Bible Lec-tures for the past 30 years and has also presented at Harding Theological Semi-nary. Most recently Jon had joined the team, “Next Generation for Christ” with James Nored, and has hosted and trained church leaders in evangelism strategies for reaching millennial’s with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Leadership Training for Christ (LTC)
LTC EXISTS TO INSPIRE AND EQUIP GENERATIONS OF YOUTH IN CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP IN THE HEART OF AMERICA TO LEAD THEIR CHURCH, COMMUNITY, AND WORKPLACE THROUGH THE 21ST CENTURY. OUR KIDS WILL TRAIN IN VARIOUS AREAS OF CHURCH SERVICE (SONG LEADING, PUPPETS, DRAMA, ETC) AND MAKE THEIR PRESENTATIONS IN KANSAS CITY ON THIS WEEKEND.
THIS EVENT IS DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES TO ATTEND AND CHEER ON EVERY SOUTHWEST STUDENT.

Trunk or Treat
Invite your friends to our family-friendly Trunk or Treat! From 6-8 PM, families can roam our parking lot and visit several folks that have decorated their trunks. Play games, have some hot cocoa, and grab some candy and good fellowship!

Men and teens, come join your brothers in Christ for a fun and challenging weekend. We plan to have a ballpark-themed lunch, serve our community, play some group games, and hear some great lessons from David Skidmore. Be there and leave encouraged!

New Bunch Lunch
A few times each year, we like to invite new members and repeat visitors to our New Bunch Lunch. This year's Lunch will take place immediately after worship on Sunday, September 21st. The New Bunch Lunch is provided so that our new folks can share a meal with church staff and leaders to learn about membership and how to get involved at Southwest.
Don't worry, we don' t ask for a commitment to anything at the lunch...it's merely a way for you to get information and make connections.
