Let The Little Children Come…
In Mark 10:13-16, people were bringing children to Jesus, but the disciples tried to turn them away. Jesus, however, saw what was happening and told them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” He then took the children in his arms, blessed them, and affirmed their place in His kingdom. This moment shows Jesus’ deep love for children—not just as the future of the church, but as valuable, cherished members of His family right now.
As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His heart by welcoming children, listening to them, including them, and nurturing their faith. Whether we are parents, teachers, church members, or friends, we have the opportunity to remove barriers and invite children into a relationship with Jesus. Their simple trust and joy remind us what true faith looks like. May we embrace and encourage them, knowing that when we welcome a child, we welcome Jesus Himself.
This month is Children’s Education Month, making it the perfect time for us as a church to find meaningful ways to support our kids. Whether through teaching Bible classes, mentoring, attending their activities, encouraging families, or simply taking the time to listen, we all have a role in helping children grow in their faith. Let’s commit to creating a church community where kids feel seen, valued, and equipped to follow Jesus for a lifetime.
