Jesus In The Storm

Over the last few days, many of us have listened to strong winds, watched dark clouds roll in, and waited for storms to pass. Storms have a way of reminding us how little control we really have. In life, we face more than just weather storms. We experience storms of uncertainty, fear, grief, stress, and disappointment. It’s easy to trust God when life feels calm and comfortable, but true faith is often revealed in the middle of the storm.

One of the most powerful stories in Scripture is when Jesus calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee. While the disciples panicked, Jesus remained at peace. After calming the wind and waves, He asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40). Jesus never promised His followers a storm-free life, but He did promise that He would be with us through every storm we face. Even when the waves feel overwhelming, we can trust that God is still present and still in control.

As we move forward this week, may we remember that faith is not just for peaceful moments. Faith is what anchors us when life becomes difficult. Storms may shake us, but they do not have to defeat us when our hope is rooted in Christ. Let us continue to trust Him, not only in the sunshine, but also in the wind and rain, knowing that He is faithful through it all.
