Organ Donor
One of the most interactive Christian t-shirts I've seen came from a youth rally that I was a part of years ago themed "Organ Donor." Several times, a stranger would see the front of my shirt (it said “Organ Donor” and had the squiggly line from an EKG) and they would say, "Oh that's cool." I would then turn around and let them read the back (with the punchline, “I gave my heart to Jesus”) and several great conversations came from it.
When I say, “I gave my heart/soul to ____________,” what I’m saying is, “I gave it everything I had...I gave it my full attention, and my full resources.” And when I think of it that way, I honestly must ask myself, “Have I really given my heart to Jesus?”
If I’m being honest, sometimes I’m not giving Him my all. Sometimes He gets a couple of hours of my entire week. Sometimes He gets to hear about my emotions (mostly negative ones.) Sometimes He gets some of my thoughts, although they are quick to jump to other topics. Sometimes He gets my physical strength in the form of a volunteer job.
Take a few moments this week to reflect on your relationship with Jesus. Does He have your heart? Does He have your all? Does he have your full attention?
My prayer is that this exercise will bring conviction, resolve, and renewed love for Jesus, who deserves our heart, our soul, our mind and our strength.
Blessings,
Franklin
