The Gift of God’s Peace

This month we have been reflecting on all the wonderful gifts God has given us through Jesus Christ: his guidance, presence, power, and salvation. This Sunday we are wrapping up our series with a message about the gift of God’s peace. Romans 15:13 says, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

The peace God offers us in Christ is more than just the absence of conflict. A better way of thinking about it is the presence of God’s goodness, even in the midst of difficult seasons of life. Biblical peace is about living under God’s blessings and experiencing life to the full (John 10:10), just as God intended before sin corrupted the world. This kind of peace, which Paul says “transcends all understanding” (Philippians 4:7), is only possible because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.

We hope to see you this Sunday as we thank God for the gift of his peace — peace with him, peace with others, and peace with ourselves.

Blessings,

Bryan Fojtasek
