God Is Your Safe Place

When snow falls and the air turns bitter cold, it’s easy to focus on what feels harsh and uncomfortable. Winter has a way of exposing our need for warmth and shelter. Spiritually, we experience seasons like that too—moments when life feels cold, uncertain, or heavy. Yet even then, God remains our refuge. As the psalmist declares in Psalms 91:1–2 (NLT), “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety.” When everything around us feels frozen, His presence becomes our covering.

Trusting God doesn’t mean the snow stops falling; it means we know where to find warmth. His Spirit comforts, His Word steadies, and His promises remind us that no season lasts forever. Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.” Just as we bundle up against the winter chill, we can wrap ourselves in His faithfulness. Even when it’s snowing outside, God is still the fire that never goes out—the steady, faithful warmth for our hearts and our homes.
